Advertainment: Big Jim's P.A.C.K.

Look out, G.I. Joe! Mattel's BIG JIM is here with his Political Action Committee to legislate you into oblivion!

Big Jim is an incredible killjoy.

Oh. That's P.A.C.K., not P.A.C. Well, shoot, there go our riveting tales of campaign finance reform. I'm sure Dr. Steel would have raised some compelling points. (On the other hand... man, that is totally Jack Kirby artwork, isn't it?)

I have no idea what I scanned this out of anymore, unfortunately. I guess I should have kept better track of that, but I only own so many vintage 1975 comics...

Advertainment: Electroman

So it turns out that Cleveland, Ohio has its own superhero!

That's some compositional fail in the first panel, there.
Unfortunately, he seems to have zero regard for public property and has black, soulless pits for eyes (but Jim there doesn't appear to have any eyes, either, so I guess that part's okay). I can't imagine a lot of supervillains make their way out to Cleveland, so I suppose becoming a shill for a correspondence school is one way to earn a living. Assuming they don't take busted walls out of his paychecks.

I have no idea what I scanned this out of anymore, but I think it was an early '80s Marvel comic.

Advertainment: Kryptonite Rocks!

Rocks were apparently a thing in the '70s. I don't know this first-hand, because I was negative four in 1978, but I have heard stories of pet rocks here and there - most of them along the lines of "wait, seriously, rocks?". So, what happens when an inexplicable fad meets a seminal icon of pop culture?

Yes, friends! Kryptonite rocks! Merchandise that combines the excitement of pet rocks with the implied promise of giving Superman a slow, agonizing death! They glow in the dark! It's KRYPTONASTIC, and I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!

What makes this particular ad even better is that I scanned it out of a Marvel comic, though I can no longer remember what one it was. I guess if a comic publisher would take money from the guys selling x-ray specs, they'd take it from anybody...
